VISUAL SURPRISES

Sometimes the strongest images are the ones that break expectation. A brief interruption of the ordinary – an unexpected gesture, a misplaced shadow, a sudden alignment – can shift the familiar into something new. These moments arrive without warning: fleeting, unrehearsed, impossible to stage.

I look for scenes where something feels slightly off-balance yet entirely natural. A rhythm that slips, a contrast that pushes back, or a quiet accident that reveals a different reading of the everyday. It’s about staying alert, anticipating the unpredictable, and letting spontaneity guide the frame. Light, movement, and timing shape these photographs: a shadow falling at the exact moment, a passerby entering at the wrong – or perfect – second, a form disrupting expected symmetry. Small deviations that turn an ordinary view into something memorable.

By seeking the unexpected, I aim to create images that spark curiosity, invite a second look, and leave a trace of wonder.
