ONE-TO-ONE WORKSHOP
HAMBURG

This workshop is shaped around your way of observing public space. We work slowly, in real urban conditions, focusing on perception, structure, and visual decisions rather than output or results.

Minimal black-and-white street photograph of a solitary figure walking along stepped ground beneath a large diagonal architectural structure, emphasizing geometry, contrast and spatial tension.
Minimal black-and-white street photograph of two figures walking along Hamburg's waterfront, with repeating vertical posts, depth and atmospheric perspective.

How We Work

The session unfolds through a sequence of slow walks, observation phases, and short reflective pauses. We work in real urban conditions, allowing situations to develop naturally rather than directing them. The structure remains flexible and adapts to your questions, pace, and way of seeing. Feedback happens situationally – while walking, stopping, and reflecting together.

Focus

This workshop focuses on visual perception in public space. Not on subjects, but on how images emerge through attention, timing, and spatial awareness.

Visual perception in public space

Light, shadow, and subtle transitions

Rhythm, repetition, and interruption

Spatial relationships and distance

Working with restraint instead of spectacle

For Whom

This workshop is for photographers who want to refine how they see rather than what they photograph.

It is suited for those interested in perception, composition, and working attentively in public space, independent of experience level or equipment.

You will leave with greater clarity in your visual decisions, a stronger awareness of your own rhythm, and a deeper understanding of how images emerge.
